About Me

I am a web designer currently living in Somerville, MA. In 2004, I graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin with an interdisciplinary degree in Visual Communications. I take photos. Sometimes I play the drums. I also like hiking, camping, road–trips, and Amanda.

Web design

I like my websites to be clean, direct, and functional. Which is not to say I don’t want them to be attractive and memorable as well. All my projects use the latest in web standards to ensure that they will work on the widest variety of browsers and devices. Most of them use a content management system (CMS) so my clients can update the content themselves. You can see some of the things I have worked on recently in my portfolio. If you would like to learn more about how I can help your business succeed online, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Photography

The photos on this site were made with a Nikon D70s digital SLR and a Holga medium–format camera. I made them look nice with Lightroom, Photoshop and good timing.

About this website

I use Expression Engine—a very flexible CMS that I would recommend to anyone—to handle the innards of this site. It is hosted cheaply, flexibly, & reliably on WebFaction, and I am keeping an eye on you with Mint.

This website looks its best in Chaparral Pro and Helvetica Neue, but if you don’t have those we’ll do the best we can.

The hard work was performed on a MacBook using Photoshop, TextMate, CSSEdit, & Transmit. Distractions were provided by NetNewsWire, NPR, & iTunes.
